Parts Warranty
Parts Warranty Policy
All parts supplied by LR Centre Ltd are covered by a 12-month warranty. Below are the detailed terms and procedures associated with this coverage:
1. Duration
All parts carry a 12-month warranty from the date the item is received by the customer.
2. Scope
Warranty claims cover parts that are:
Suspected to be faulty upon fitment, or
Fail within the 12-month warranty period.
Failures caused by external factors, such as improper installation, poor vehicle maintenance, or pre-existing vehicle issues, are not covered.
3. Coverage
The warranty covers only the item sold. The following are not covered:
Damage caused after fitment
Labour costs
Diagnostic fees
Any consequential losses
Additionally, failures caused by external factors are excluded, such as:
Poor vehicle maintenance
Incorrect installation
Pre-existing faults in related systems
Example:
If a new fuel injector fails because the fuel system contains contaminants or the injector was installed incorrectly, this would not be covered, as the failure was not due to a manufacturing defect.
4. Investigation Process
All parts returned under warranty will undergo a thorough inspection and testing process to determine the cause of failure. This involves returning the part to the supplier/manufacturer for assessment.
While this process may take several weeks, we always strive to minimise delays and keep you informed.
5. Requirement for Assessment
Due to the technical nature of vehicle parts, immediate refunds or replacements cannot be issued without investigation. The supplier’s findings determine whether a warranty claim is accepted. We will support our customers throughout the process but must abide by the outcome of this assessment.
6. Warranty Return Form
To avoid processing delays, please include a completed Warranty Return Form: with your returned item(s).
7. Replacement Options
If the part is confirmed faulty by the supplier, we will provide a replacement free of charge, or issue a refund if preferred.
If a replacement is required urgently, customers may purchase a new part while awaiting the outcome of the investigation. Should the original part be confirmed faulty, a full refund will be issued to the original payment method.
Consumer Rights Act 2015 – What You Need to Know
We fully respect and operate in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which protects customers purchasing goods in the UK.
Under this law, customers are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund if a product is found to be faulty, not as described, or unfit for purpose within a reasonable timeframe.
However, it’s important to understand that:
The Consumer Rights Act only applies once a fault has been confirmed, and
It does not cover external causes such as incorrect installation, poor vehicle maintenance, or unrelated issues elsewhere on the vehicle.
Before a refund or replacement can be processed, we are required to verify the nature of the fault. This typically involves returning the part to the manufacturer or supplier for technical inspection and confirmation that the failure was due to a manufacturing defect.
This process is standard industry practice and ensures that claims are handled fairly and in accordance with UK consumer law.
We appreciate that this may cause frustration, especially when vehicles are off the road, but we are committed to helping our customers through the process and will always act promptly once a fault is verified.
